You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. If you need a location to stay Woodlake Inn is a nice choice, and brilliant skiing awaits you at Mount Pisgah. This lake is so wonderful. Mountain Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Donaldson George A and Sons is a delightful local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Salmon River offers some brilliant whitewater.

| | Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mountain Pond; Schwartz Trail is a wonderful local trail, and if you came to camp Pioneer Village is a good place to do that. Yeah, come here to Mountain Pond for a good time. Not far from Mountain Pond you discover Horse Head Point, and there's nice hiking along the McKenzie Pond Trail. time of the year are in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mountain Pond
dip into the 0's. Mountain Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. You're in all probability addicted to lakes, Loon Lake is one of those close by;
swing by Oregon Brook it's a perfect place to take a look at. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Silver Lake Mountain Trail, and if you've had enough of Mountain Pond, Line Pond is nearby. That right there is plenty of entertaining
things already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Whiteface Mountain; get yourself into a kayak and hit Saranac River - North Branch. This lake is so wonderful.
On a lovely day you obtain a sight of Haystack Mountain from Mountain Pond, and dry warm beds await you at THE HOTEL SARANAC. Mountain Pond is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains.

Silver lake mountain trail head is found on Silver lake Road, which intersects with NY Route 3 about 23 miles west of Plattsburgh [near Clayburg]. Go south on Silver Lake Road for about 10 miles, find the marked trailhead on the left side of the road. This is a short somewhat steep hike with a beautiful view from the top. Well worth the effort....Silver Lake Mt. is a glorious hike. Its not too difficult for the amateur hikers and has a few trails off to the side that are a bit more difficult and fun for the experienced hikers. Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained.
