This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Weston Trail is always a good adventure, and it's a delightful idea to visit Moss Pond Brook. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Very beautiful scenery and brilliant skiing is what you get at Whiteface Mountain, and since you're

here, you could also pop by lovely Makomis Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. Moss Ponds is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Shearer's Riverside Campsite is a pleasant local campground. Gui Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to, and pleasant hiking is available along the Dix Trail. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do right next door to Moss Ponds. If you come at the right time of year, Schroon River offers some good whitewater, and the peak of Catamount Mountain can be spotted from Moss Ponds.
So many cool things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains, too great to be true. Drift down the rapids of The Branch in a kayak, and Super 8 Motel Ticonderoga is a delightful location to get some rest.

What a terrific place to spend the night or even a few days. I went there on my first hike ever, and I am going back this week. It is about a 3-4 hour hike into the trail, but man is it worth it. If you are lucky enough to be the only group there, you will find a lean-2 and fire pit all to yourself.  Also, there is a very secluded pond(oxshoe pond) in the same valley, that is just spectacular. A row boat is on hand to use for free for anyone at the site.  No cell  service with Verizon there, but then again, who needs that? lol again though, an absolutely amazing place to spend a few nights....

With the greatest vertical drop in the east at 3,166 feet, very few resorts do this better than Whiteface. With long runs over three separate, yet connected areas, you'll spend maximum time on the snow and minimum time on the lifts.
There's also Little Whiteface with almost 2,500 vertical feet. And don't forget Kids Kampus which has separate lifts, lodge, ticketing, rentals, snowsports school and child care. This is an outstanding experience for young beginners in a low-key, safe environment.
A new area opens during 2008/2009 season. Lookout Mountain looms over the horizon covered with pristine snow. For centuries this is how it has been. Until now. This season, Lookout Mountain will be yours for the first time. This means miles of new trail. Literally undiscovered country for you to fall in love with. Whiteface has another face, so Lookout.
