Adirondak Loj is a great campground nearby, and Allen Mountain is clearly visible from Moss Pond. You clearly have to fancy the Adirondack Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Whispering Pines Campground is a good place to camp, and the Shorey Short Cut is a great hiking trail close by.       Summertime highs at Moss Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Moss Pond. What would winter be without some skiing at Mount Pisgah. Man, is there plenty of exciting things to do near Moss Pond. Courtyard Lake Placid is a perfect place to get some rest, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike                  along the Van Hoevenberg Trail. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a great site to spend a night or two, and there are other locations here than Moss Pond, for example Lake Arnold. These mountains rock, just check out all the amusing stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Gotta ski! Whiteface Mountain is a nice place to do that; Ausable River - West Branch is a magnificent whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Allen Brook while you're here at Moss Pond. Lakes? Sure, Lake of the Clouds Tear is close by. This lake is so wonderful. There is a delightful hiking trail close to Moss Pond called the Hopkins Trail; in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on John's Brook.
