    What a nice lake Mosquito Pond is. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do next to Mosquito Pond. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Handsome Pond in the vicinity of Mosquito Pond, and you'll stumble on a lovely lake called Mud Pond. After a long day outdoors Woodlake Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and at Mosquito Pond you can make out Big Brook Hills. This lake is so wonderful. The Sucker Brook Trail is a splendid  
   hiking trail in the neighborhood of Mosquito Pond; Mosquito Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Whispering woods is a delightful local campground.
Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Mosquito Pond. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Mosquito Pond during the winter frequently sink into the 0's. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Round Lake
 
               Outlet, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Soar down the rapids of Raquette River in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Mosquito Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Long Lake Camp is a wonderful site for that.
Mosquito Pond is a wet location that gets a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Adirondack Mountains is so good!. Mosquito Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-...
