    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Moore Pond. Camping at Lake Taghkanic is always a great experience, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Stever Pond. Go for a hike on the Indian Trail; a golf course close by is Copake Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Roeliff Jansen Kill River near Moore Pond; High Falls is a fine local attraction.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this
 
   spot. Going for a hike on the Northrop Trail is always a brilliant adventure; there's whitewater on Kinderhook Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. People from Hudson love to come to Moore Pond, and why not head up to Catamount and strap some skis to your feet. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Moore Pond. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's  
               with temperatures at Moore Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
If you came to camp Oleana Family Camp Grounds is a perfect place to do that, and St Charles Hotel is a nice spot to get some rest. Don't leave Moore Pond without first going for a hike along the Elbow Trail, and after a long day outdoors Red Carpet Inn Coxsackie is a good site to spend a night or two. Looking for some flowing water? Try Agawamuck Creek.
The annual rainfall here at Moore Pond is about average; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is January.
