Why not stop by Lake Montauk if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lake Montauk has to offer, you can camp at Timber Creek RV Resort, and Montauk Yacht Club is a perfect spot to get some rest. Stay the night at Seaport Campground, and Prospect Hill is delightful and can be seen from here. For the period of the summertime, highs generally are in the 80's at Lake Montauk with nighttime lows in the 60's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 30's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Lake Montauk fall into the 10's.
