If you like skiing, you're in luck; Sterling Forest is in close proximity to Monroe Ponds, and don't leave Monroe Ponds without first going for a hike along the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Monroe Ponds. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Monroe Country Club, and the skiing at Mt. Peter is splendid. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Robert Moses is always a delightful experience,

| | and dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn/Central Valley. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Forest Road Lake, and camping is available at Camp wabenaki. From Monroe Ponds you obtain a great sight of Bald Hill, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ramapo River. here. There's glorious hiking along the Pine Meadow Trail; after a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Harriman Woodbury is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. The Kakiat Trail offers hiking at its best, and Moodna Creek has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby.
