A lake close by is Penelope Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites West Point-Ft Montgomery, Ny. High temperatures at Lake Mitchell all through the summertime months are in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Lake Mitchell. This       lake is so wonderful. Moodna Creek has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby; Camp Discovery is a pleasant local campground. Lake Mitchell ordinarily gets a large amount of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Highland Falls is a good place to spend a night or two; the sight of Blue Mountain is picturesque. Charles Point is near Lake Mitchell and is a good location                  to stop by, and Sterling Forest is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. Hiking along the Stillwell Lake Trail is good fun. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Popolopen Creek; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Woodtown Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Pond is a pleasant campground nearby, and Lounsbury Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time.
