Do stop at Mud Pond next to Mill Pond, it's a pretty lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Mill Creek. Canyon is a delightful location for that, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Clear Pond Trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at Mill Pond; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the
most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Yeah, come up here to the Adirondack Mountains for a magnificent time. Here at Mill Pond you can observe Burns Mountain; Craig Harbor is in the vicinity and
always pleasant to take a look at. Just can't get enough of Mill Pond. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mill Pond; Bear Pond Trail is a magnificent local trail; you'll come across a beautiful lake called Bartlett Pond. This
lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel Ticonderoga is a great location to spend a night or two, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Putnam Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains.

Oxshoe Pond
 | 15 miles away What a terrific place to spend the night or even a few days. I went there on my first hike ever, and I am going back this week. It is about a 3-4 hour hike into the trail, but man is it worth it. If you are lucky enough to be the only group there, you will find a lean-2 and fire pit all to yourself. Also, there is a very secluded pond(oxshoe pond) in the same valley, that is just spectacular. A row boat is on hand to use for free for anyone at the site. No cell service with Verizon there, but then again, who needs that? lol again though, an absolutely amazing place to spend a few nights.... |
