     Very beautiful scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at McCauley Mountain, and Panther Pond is a pleasant lake nearby. Go for a hike on the Salmon Lake Trail. The amount of precipitation that falls at Mikes Pond is close to the national average; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. For the duration of the summertime at Mikes Pond temperatures are frequently in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures  
   sink down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mikes Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Beaver River offers some brilliant whitewater, and if you came for an overnight stay Moose River Camp Grounds is a fine place to camp. Good hiking is available along the Stone Dam Trail; camping is available at Cold Brook Campsites. It's a good idea to check
 
               out Fourth Creek, it's near Mikes Pond; skiing at Snow Ridge is one of those things you just have to do.
And that's not all you can do here at Mikes Pond. A pretty lake like Trout Pond right next door to Mikes Pond is a good location to check out; the view of Mount Tom is pretty.
