From a rainfall point of view Merwin Lake is a relatively common site; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest. Merwin Lake is a great place to camp, Dingman's Campgrounds is a great place, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kinderhook Creek. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting       stuff at Merwin Lake. If you get bored of Merwin Lake, you could also go to close by Fowlers Pond, and there's glorious hiking along the Northrop Trail. Hannacrois Creek has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a place to stay Red Carpet Inn Coxsackie is a tremendous choice. The slopes of Catamount are so inviting nobody can resist. If you're dropping by Merwin Lake from Hudson, you won't be the only one; St Charles Hotel is a perfect                  place to get some rest. For the period of the months of summer here at Merwin Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Merwin Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Winding Brook Country Club is a good golf course nearby.
