Near Merriewold Lake you come across a golf course called Monroe Country Club; Blaggs Clove is a perfect place here at Merriewold Lake. A wonderful vista of pretty Bull Mine Mountain is available from Merriewold Lake, and Sterling Forest is a very popular ski area close at hand. Just can't get enough of Merriewold Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day       outdoors Americas Best Value Inn/Central Valley is a wonderful site to spend a night or two; glide down the rapids of Ramapo River in a kayak. Merriewold Lake usually gets a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Amdur Park Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to; why not take a refreshing hike along the                  Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail. But wait, there's more to do near Merriewold Lake. Camp wabenaki is a perfect campground nearby, and paddling on Moodna Creek is so much fun. While you're here at Merriewold Lake, you could also pop by wonderful Orange-Rockland Lake, and Hampton Inn Harriman Woodbury is a glorious place to get some rest. Head up to Mt. Peter and strap some skis to your feet, and Merriewold Lake is right by the Stillwell Lake Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Merriewold Lake. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's.
