Fishkill Golf Course & Driving Range is a golf course right next door to Melzingah Reservoir; if you've had enough of Melzingah Reservoir, Cold Spring Reservoir is close by. Head up to Sterling Forest and strap some skis to your feet, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Popolopen Creek. This place, Melzingah Reservoir, it simply has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Why not stop       by close by Breakneck Brook while you're here at Melzingah Reservoir, and get dripping wet paddling on Moodna Creek. This lake is so wonderful. The Thayer Hotel is a brilliant location to get some rest; Breakneck Point is not far at all. Melzingah Reservoir regularly gets a large amount of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. Camping is available at Sebago Cabins Harriman, unsurprisingly you could also                  pop by Lake Surprise if you're here; it's not far at all. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Fishkill, and there are magnificent places to explore along the Stillwell Lake Trail. But wait, there's more to do near Melzingah Reservoir. Bull Hill is easy to spot from Melzingah Reservoir, and you can go for a hike on the Woodtown Trail. Camping at Beaver Pond is always a good experience, and going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a pleasant adventure. For the period of the long summer days at Melzingah Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 70's with overnight lows in the 60's.
