Why not camp at Deer Run Camp Grounds while you're here at Mechanicville Reservoir, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Mohawk River. If you get bored of Mechanicville Reservoir, you could also pop by close by Black Pond; the sight of picturesque Cornell Hill is delightful. This lake is so wonderful. Willard Mountain has wonderful slopes                  and a friendly staff, and a magnificent location to camp here at Mechanicville Reservoir is Fish Creek Marina and Camp Grounds. Really fine skiing awaits you at Hickory Ski Center, and this is a popular place for folks from Albany-Schenectady-Troy. Summertime highs at Mechanicville Reservoir mostly tend to be in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 50's.
