Why not camp at Twin Ells Campsites if you're here at Mead Reservoir, and Duncan Pond is a glorious lake nearby. So much cool stuff in the Adirondack Mountains, just impressive. Great Chazy River is a magnificent whitewater spot near Mead Reservoir, and Mead Reservoir is not far at all from Plattsburgh. Summertime highs at Mead Reservoir mostly tend to be in the 70's, and the nighttime       is rather cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Mead Reservoir temperatures descend to the 0's. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things close to Mead Reservoir. A nice close by hotel is Econo Lodge Plattsburgh, and the skiing at Whiteface Mountain is nice. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. Beartown Brook is one of the streams                  nearby that might be worth stopping at, and camping at Mead Reservoir is great fun, Macomb Reservation is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid location for whitewater paddling close to Mead Reservoir is Saranac River; don't leave Mead Reservoir without first paying a visit to Kent Falls. And that's not all you can do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Plattsburgh-Days Inn is a delightful site to get some rest.
