For you golfers we recommend close by Saranac Lake Golf Club, and a wonderful close by hotel is THE HOTEL SARANAC. There are splendid places to look at along the Indian Pass Trail; Ausable River - West Branch is a great whitewater spot nearby. McKenzie Pond is a pretty wet place commonly with lots of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain,       and February is the month with the least moisture. Through the summertime months highs here at McKenzie Pond get into the 70's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and night lows during the wintertime for McKenzie Pond tend to be in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Turtle Pond is in close proximity to McKenzie Pond, and camping at Pioneer Village is always                  a nice experience. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Pisgah is next to McKenzie Pond, and going for a hike on the McKenzie Pond Trail is always a splendid adventure. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Adirondack Mountains. Be careful coming to McKenzie Pond, you might not ever want to go home again. The skiing at Whiteface Mountain is splendid, and if you've had enough of McKenzie Pond, Wolf Pond is close by. Little Ray Brook is a great location to have a look at; a pleasant panorama of stunning Baker Mountain is available. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Saranac River - North Branch, and there are plenty of people from Malone here. Go for a hike on the Schwartz Trail, and Moody Bay is in close proximity and always delightful to explore. This lake is one of the great places here in the Adirondack Mountains. That right there is a heap of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Adirondack Mountains has it all.
