Tug Hill Inn is a nice place to get some rest, and there's whitewater on Fish Creek - East Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers. A quick trip to East Fork Salmon River near McCarthys Lake is a good idea, and a pleasant spree to Hickey Beaver Meadow is a great way to spend an afternoon. Fort Stanwix National Monument is one of the destinations near McCarthys Lake that are great to go to.                  McCarthys Lake is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
