Take a hike on the Vernooy Falls Trail, and a nice location for whitewater paddling is Sandburg Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Neversink River, and why not head up to Holiday Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. Mastens Lake is a rather wet place regularly with a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is May; February is when it's the driest.
