If you get bored of Martin Pond, you could also have a look at nearby Moxham Pond; if you came for an overnight stay Smoke Rise Campsites is a fine place to camp. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Adirondack Mountains. Near Martin Pond you come across the Dividing Ridge Trail which is a delightful       hiking trail, and Camp Dippikill Office is a good campground nearby. If only every location had this much outdoors fun things, what a great world it would be. If you're here at Martin Pond, checking out Moxham Point is a must, and from Martin Pond you get a glorious sight of Moxham Mountain. A day on the slopes of Gore Mountain is just what you need, and there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the Elk Lake Marcy Trail. At Martin Pond through the                  warm days of summer highs are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are frequently in the 20's, and overnight lows at Martin Pond during the wintertime typically fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Collins Brook from Martin Pond is simple, and Balm of Gilead Brook is a fine whitewater spot nearby. Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel is a splendid place to get some rest, and a splendid place for whitewater paddling is Hudson River. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Lake George Resort is a great place to spend a night or two. Martin Pond is a good place of typical rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest. So much fun stuff in the Adirondack Mountains, just astonishing.
