Mad Tom Lake is located in the Adirondack Mountains. Going for a hike along the Twin Lakes Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. Swamps like Crosby Vly close to Mad Tom Lake make for great places to have a look at; you'll hit upon a pretty lake called White Lead Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The summit       of McCauley Mountain can be seen from Mad Tom Lake; get wet paddling on West Canada Creek. Throughout the days of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Mad Tom Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Mad Tom Lake throughout the wintertime regularly dip into the 0's. Mad Tom Lake is a wet spot that gets a great deal of precipitation; August is the month that gets the most                  rain, and the driest month of the year is February. All year is a nice time in the Adirondack Mountains if you fancy the outdoors. Dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Inns-Herkimer, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Party Trail. If the weather is magnificent here at Mad Tom Lake, you can go for a hike along the California Trail; why not camp at Trails End if you're here at Mad Tom Lake. There's some flowing water close by, Jones Creek is a stream you can pop by during your stay, and a nice location to camp here at Mad Tom Lake is Adirondack Gateway Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Black River - South Branch in a kayak; Knights Inn Little Falls is a great spot to get some rest. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Mad Tom Lake.
