Through the summertime at Mad Tom Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally       in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Mad Tom Lake throughout the winter ordinarily fall into the 0's. Americas Best Inns-Herkimer is a great place to get some rest, and swamps are interesting places and Crosby Vly next to Mad Tom Lake is no exception. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Mad Tom Lake. Stay the night at Trails End; if you need a site to stay Knights Inn Little Falls is a nice choice. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater                  of Black River - South Branch, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the California Trail. Yeah, come up here to the Adirondack Mountains for a pleasant time. The Party Trail is a splendid hiking trail in the neighborhood of Mad Tom Lake; McCauley Mountain is a very popular ski area nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is tremendous here at Mad Tom Lake, you can go for a hike along the Twin Lakes Trail; the peak of McCauley Mountain can be distinguished from Mad Tom Lake. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by White Lead Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Bullhead Pond is close by, and do visit Jones Creek if you're here at Mad Tom Lake.
