Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites East Greenbush, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Burden Lake Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. Pine Swamp is an interesting swamp near Lyons Pond, and brilliant skiing awaits you at Catamount. Just can't get enough of Lyons Pond. Knights Inn Castleton       on Hudson/Schodack is a fine place to get some rest; Mashodack Hill is clearly visible from Lyons Pond. Lyons Pond is right by the Brickhouse Mountain Trail; if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Poesten Kill River. Throughout the long summer days, highs usually are in the 80's at Lyons Pond, and the night is rather cooler of course, generally in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime                  lows through the wintertime for Lyons Pond tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid place to camp here at Lyons Pond is Alps Family Campground, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Jiminy Peak. You could also stop at Smith Pond since you're here at Lyons Pond; it's nearby, and during your trip here you'll meet some folks from Hudson for sure. Kinderhook Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and the Taconic Skyline Trail offers hiking at its best. So much fun stuff to do at Lyons Pond, so little time. Camping at Dingman's Campgrounds is always a fine experience.
