Lower Twin Lake ordinarily gets a great deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Do pop by Lake Massawippa next to Lower Twin Lake, it's a pretty lake, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Popolopen       Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Beaver Pond; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Sterling Forest is reasonably near. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Moodna Creek, and a good nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites West Point-Ft Montgomery, Ny. That right there is lots already, but it goes on; Lower Twin Lake has it all. Golf can be played at Central Valley Golf Club; from Lower Twin Lake you obtain a nice view of                  Blackcap Mountain. If you came for an overnight stay Sebago Cabins Harriman is a nice site to camp, and splendid hiking is available along the Stillwell Lake Trail. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Highland Falls is a great spot to spend a night or two, and since you're here, you could also take a look at wonderful Lake Frederick. Through the summer at Lower Twin Lake highs are generally in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lower Twin Lake are in the 10's. Mt. Peter is a tremendous local ski area, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lower Twin Lake; Breakneck Ridge Trail is a brilliant local trail. If you're here at Lower Twin Lake, you could go to Lewis Brook, and there's fine hiking along the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail.
