Cockaigne is a wonderful local ski area, and if you're visiting from Jamestown-Dunkirk-Fredonia, you won't be the only one. A great close by hotel is The White Inn, and there's whitewater on Chautauqua Creek for all you thrill seekers. Throughout the summer at Lower Lake highs are generally in the 70's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come       with lows in the 10's to Lower Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Pickett Brook flows through this area; after a long day outdoors Days Inn Dunkirk - Fredonia is a delightful site to spend a night or two. A lake nearby is Cassadaga Lakes. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lower Lake has to offer, you can camp at Arkwright Hills Campsite. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lower                  Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Woodside Campsites is a great spot for that; since you're here and you like golf, you can stop by Cassadaga Lakes Golf Club.
