Swamps can be such out of the ordinary places, stop at Little Meadows since you're here at Lower Cascade Lake, and if you've had enough of Lower Cascade Lake, Mud Pond is close by. You need to stop at The Chimney if you're here at Lower Cascade Lake, and the Phelps Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Man, is there a load of fun stuff to do in the neighborhood of Lower Cascade Lake. After a long       day outdoors Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a good site to spend a night or two, and Bear Cubby is clearly visible from Lower Cascade Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Lower Cascade Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lower Cascade Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. Yep, outdoors enjoyable                  stuff truly is bountiful here in the Adirondack Mountains. Railroad Notch is a fine spot to explore in the vicinity of Lower Cascade Lake; the Cascade Range towers over Lower Cascade Lake. From a rainfall point of view Lower Cascade Lake is a reasonably common location; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is frequently the driest month. Really wonderful skiing awaits you at Whiteface Mountain; camping at Lower Cascade Lake is great fun, Lake Placid/Whiteface MT KOA is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lower Cascade Lake you can take a hike along the Johns Brook Trail; if you come at the right time of year, John's Brook offers some good whitewater. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Adirondack Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Ausable River - East Branch, and on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the Southside Trail. If only every site had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great earth it would be. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mount Pisgah. Lower Cascade Lake is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.
