    Lost Pond is a lake worth visiting. Summertime highs at Lost Pond usually tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Lost Pond through the winter regularly drop into the 0's. A day on the slopes of McCauley Mountain is just what you need, and there's whitewater on Moose River for all you adrenaline people. Lost Pond is a rather wet place frequently  
   with a good deal of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area next to Lost Pond has to offer. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lost Pond; Twin Lakes Trail is a great local trail, and the skiing at Woods Valley is pleasant. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Adirondack
 
               Mountains. Don't leave Lost Pond without first going for a hike along the Stone Dam Trail.
Some close by water includes Otter Lake Outlet, and there's fine hiking along the Forty Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Moose River - Middle Branch, and if you came to camp Cold Brook Campsites is a pleasant place to do that. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Lost Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Moose River Camp Grounds is a great local campground, and Lost Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at.
