There are great locations to look at along the Norridge Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Oswegatchie River - Middle Branch. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff next to Lost Pond. Going for a hike on the Salmon Lake Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by McCauley Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Mouldy Pond is a nice lake next       to Lost Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Near Lost Pond you find the Post Henderson Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and a tremendous swamp right next door to Lost Pond is Desert Swamp. Summer at Lost Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Lost Pond. An average amount of precipitation falls at Lost Pond; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. Nicks Lake Campgrounds is a great campground nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Beaver River.
