In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Indian River, and since you're here, you could also explore wonderful Cedar Lakes. Moose River - South Branch is a brilliant whitewater spot next to Lost Pond. There's so much to do here at Lost Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Tioga Point State Campground | |

is a nice place for that. At Lost Pond all through the long summer days highs are in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Lost Pond overnight low temperatures
during the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Adirondack Mountains. Gotta ski! McCauley Mountain is a great location to do that, and you'll stumble
on a picturesque lake called Beaver Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Browns Tract Pond State Campground is a good location to do that, and Lost Pond is right by the Northville Lake Placid Trail. Lost Pond sees
pretty high levels of rain; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.

Northville Lake Placid Trail
 | 15 miles away Not sure where Plumley's Point is but I hiked the Northville Lake Placid trail about 4 or 5 miles north from Long Lake village and it was fairly well maintained (just a little overgrowth). At one point the trail runs into a bog/pond and the wooden planks are flooded over. You must make a detour to the left and bushwack to some rocks to cross (hiked June 09)...8/14/09 I'm wondering if anyone knows the trail conditions for the Northville Lake Palcid trail from Long Lake village to near Plumley's Point-... |
