The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Lost Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, High Peaks Base Camp is a great local campground, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Whiteface Mountain if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Courtyard Lake Placid is a fine place to get some rest, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Stimson Trail. This lake is so wonderful.       At Lost Pond you can distinguish Big Crow Mountain, and there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Leach Trail. The summits of the Soda Range add much beauty to the vicinity around Lost Pond, and a magnificent site for whitewater paddling is The Branch. Man, is there plenty of exciting things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Ausable River - East Branch is a delightful whitewater spot near Lost Pond, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Weston                  Trail. A normal amount of rain falls here at Lost Pond; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. You completely must go for the Adirondack Mountains. Conners Notch is a glorious spot to stop at right next door to Lost Pond, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Lake Placid is a good spot to spend a night or two. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Lost Pond. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Lost Pond. All the outdoors fun things in the neighborhood of Lost Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly.
