For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lost Pond drop into the 0's. Man, is there lots of exciting things to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Boreas River, and Bullhead Pond is a wonderful lake nearby. Take a side tour to Boreas River,       and dry warm beds await you at Courtyard Lake Placid. If you came to camp Smoke Rise Campsites is a magnificent location to do that; on a great day you can take a hike along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail. The annual precipitation here at Lost Pond is about average; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. You definitely ought to like the Adirondack Mountains. Lakes are such calm places, why not explore Little Rankin Pond                  in the vicinity of Lost Pond, and Howe Marsh is a swamp next to Lost Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lost Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cedar Pond Campground is a tremendous place for that, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Indian Pass Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. And that's not all you can do here at Lost Pond. The top of Baldface Mountain is easily observed from Lost Pond, and the Dividing Ridge Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
