     Lost Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Dead Vly is an interesting swamp close to Lost Lake, and the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Lost Lake is a beautiful lake in the Adirondack Mountains.
Through the days of summer at Lost Lake highs are usually in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lost
 
   Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Gloversville here; if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Johnstown-Gloversville, Ny is a good choice. And that's not all you can do here at Lost Lake. Cold Brook is a nice spot to have a look at. There's so much to do here at Lost Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pine Lake Campground and RV Park is a great location for that.
Now, you may think that's a load but there's
 
               even more entertaining things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. There is a good hiking trail right next door to Lost Lake called the Sucker Brook Trail; Little Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Sacandaga River - West Branch for all you adrenaline kick people; do explore Buckhorn Lake, it's a delightful lake. And if that's not sufficient there's lots more exciting stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Big Hedgehog Mountain is clearly visible from Lost Lake; Lost Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Campsite is a great local campground.
Lost Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. You can run the rapids of Piseco Outlet right next door to Lost Lake, and nothing beats kicking back at Moffit Beach.

Buckhorn Lake is a private Association Lake located 2 miles north of Unadilla, New York (in Otsego County). Very friendly towns folk and this lake holds the New York State Record for a Large Mouth Bass caught in 1994. The lake is fed by many underground springs but is not ery deep. Makes for a lovely, though short drive around it....

Never been there...going there soon though....l\Love it there, going today. :)...Great spot for swimming in the summer. Clear waters, with many rocks and small cliffs to jump off, along with a rope swing! Its a heavily used area, made apparent by the large amount of garbage left around during the busy months, but  all in all a good lake and definatley worth the short hike....
