    If you like lakes and you're in this part of New York you can check out Lost Island Pond. If you come at the right time of year, Oswegatchie River - East Branch offers some good whitewater, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lost Island Pond; Salmon Lake Trail is a good local trail. You absolutely have to adore the Adirondack Mountains. At Lost Island Pond you can catch a sight of Summit Mountain; dry warm beds await you at Big Rock Cottages. This lake  
   is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the good skiing at McCauley Mountain.
These mountains rock, just explore all the entertaining stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Lots of people from Ogdensburg-Massena come to Lost Island Pond, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Norridge Trail. You truly should have a thing about Lost Island Pond. Camping at Lost Island Pond is pleasant fun, Cape Woods Campground is a pleasant local campground;
 
               whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Oswegatchie River - East Branch. There are other spots here than Lost Island Pond, for example Beaverdam Pond; after a long day outdoors Daikers Brookside Lodging is a great spot to spend a night or two.
At Lost Island Pond through the warm months highs are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are typically in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lost Island Pond are in the 0's. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Lost Island Pond is a splendid location to camp, Robinson's Iga is a splendid location, and do take a hike on the Big Deer Pond Trail.
The annual rainfall here at Lost Island Pond is about average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
