Do stop by Lake Lorraine while you're in this part of New York. Paddling on Batten Kill River is so much fun, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Lorraine; Williams Trail is a good local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western New Englander Motor Inn, and whitewater paddling is nice on Hoosic River. is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Lorraine without first going for a hike along the Taconic Crest Trail. This is a good area for folks who like lakes. Echo Lake is a lake close by; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Willard Mountain
is relatively near. Midtown Motel is a brilliant place to get some rest, and magnificent hiking is available along the Southeast Hollow Trail. What a site this is for outdoors people. Why not camp at Aqua Vista Valley Campgrounds if you're here at Lake Lorraine, and the skiing at Jiminy Peak is good.
