While you're here at Loretta Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown;       Wappinger Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. There are nice spots to explore along the Woodtown Trail, and hey, Barger Brook is a perfect local stream. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by Barger Pond since you're here at Loretta Lake; it's close by; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Mt. Kisco (Westchester Cty),Ny is a great choice.
