Lots of rainfall falls at Loon Lake; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. And if that's not enough there's a lot more entertaining stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Pioneer Village is a splendid place to camp; a lake nearby is Bass Lake. This lake is so wonderful.       At Loon Lake you can catch a glimpse of Catamount, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Salmon River. All through the summertime months at Loon Lake temperatures are typically in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's.
