Not far from Long Pond, you'll discover Mud Pond which is a wonderful lake, and there are perfect places to discover along the Oregon Trail. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Gore Mountain, and you can stay the night at Camp Dippikill Office. Not enough hours in a day to       enjoy the Adirondack Mountains. Long Pond is a great location to visit for more than one day, Smoke Rise Campsites is a great location to camp nearby; there's whitewater on Hudson River for all you adrenaline people. This lake is so wonderful. There are other spots here than Long Pond, for example Clear Pond. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. You can run the rapids of Balm of Gilead Brook near Long Pond, and one of the                  dominant marks of the surroundings of Long Pond is Moxham Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect nearby hotel is Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel, and there's good hiking along the Dividing Ridge Trail. For the period of the summertime at Long Pond temperatures are generally in the 70's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Long Pond temperatures descend to the 0's. There's some flowing water nearby, Raymond Brook is a stream you can have a look at while here, and don't leave Long Pond without first going for a hike along the Elk Lake Marcy Trail.
