If you are in this part of New York make sure to pay a visit to Long Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Long Pond Brook is close to Long Pond and is always a bliss to take a look at, and there are wonderful spots to explore along the Woodtown Trail. A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites West Point-Ft Montgomery, Ny; Cat Hollow is also a great spot to look at. Moodna Creek has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by; there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Stillwell Lake Trail. Not far from Long Pond, you'll find Arthurs Pond which is a pretty lake, and you can stay the night at Beaver Pond. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Sterling Forest. Long Pond really is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. If you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Popolopen Creek, and the summit of Cranberry Mountain
can be observed from Long Pond. An afternoon playing golf at Central Valley Golf Club is always a diversion, and why not head up to Mt. Peter and strap some skis to your feet. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Long
Pond get into the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 30's, and night lows at Long Pond throughout the wintertime mostly plunge into the 10's.
You just can't envision
the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area close to Long Pond has to offer. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Bear Mountain Inn is a glorious choice, and going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a nice adventure.
