A delightful place to camp here at Long Pond is Long Pond Lake Family Campgrounds; Days Inn Poughkeepsie is a delightful spot to get some rest. A swamp like Davis Swamp right next door to Long Pond has lots of exciting things to see. For the duration of the warm days of summer here at Long Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the       50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Long Pond temperatures plunge to the 0's. The peak of Schultz Hill can be observed from Long Pond. Lakes are good; Silver Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Long Pond. Camping is available at Interlake Farm Campground, and in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Esopus Creek. Long Pond                  gets much water; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Red Hook Golf Club not far from Long Pond, and you're perhaps addicted to lakes, Mud Pond is one of those close by.
