Good hiking is available along the Sucker Brook Trail, and a swamp like Big Marsh in the neighborhood of Long Lake has lots of attention-grabbing things to see. This lake is so wonderful. A quick visit to Big Brook in the neighborhood of Long Lake is a magnificent idea. The annual precipitation here at Long Lake is about average; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of       the year is February. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. There's so much to do here at Long Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hoss's Country Campground is a delightful place for that, and do schedule some time to visit Kelly Point if you have a chance. At Long Lake you can see Landing Hill, and a good close by hotel is Woodlake Inn. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Long Lake has to offer, you can camp at Whispering                  woods, and Anthony Ponds is a nearby lake that you could go to. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Shaw Pond in close proximity to Long Lake, it's a charming lake, and there's whitewater on Raquette River for all you adrenaline junkies. The warmest time of the year at Long Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Long Lake are in the 0's.
