Fish Creek is a fine whitewater spot near Lake Lonely. There's so much to do here at Lake Lonely that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Brook Campsites is a good place for that. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Hickory Ski Center, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Albany-Schenectady-Troy here. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on       Hudson River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Saratoga Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful close by hotel is Residence Inn by Marriott Saratoga Springs, and the snow is magnificent at West Mountain. Just can't get enough of Lake Lonely. Courtyard By Marriott Saratoga Springs is a great place to get some rest; getting to Bog Meadow Brook from Lake Lonely is simple. Lake Lonely is a good site of normal rainfall;                  through May this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Stay the night at Fish Creek Marina and Camp Grounds; Bear Swamp is an exciting swamp in the neighborhood of Lake Lonely. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Saratoga Lake Golf Club is always a bliss. Lakes are great; Owl Pond is a lake that's close to Lake Lonely. High temperatures at Lake Lonely during the warm days of summer are in the 70's; the nighttime is a little cooler of course, generally in the 50's.
