Little Rankin Pond is a good place of normal precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Adirondack Mountains. Really good skiing awaits you at Gore Mountain, and hey, Powers Brook is a great local stream. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Smoke Rise Campsites is a great spot       to do that, and there's whitewater on Boreas River - Upper for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. A short spree to Hewitt Eddy is always worthwhile, and a striking lake like Rankin Pond is a fine place to take a look at. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Swamps like Howe Marsh in close proximity to Little Rankin Pond make for splendid sites to visit. There's so much to do here at Little Rankin Pond that you need to camp here for                  a while, Cedar Pond Campground is a great place for that. There is a pleasant hiking trail near Little Rankin Pond called the Indian Pass Trail, and there are some good whitewater spots on Boreas River. On a delightful day at Little Rankin Pond you can take a hike along the Dividing Ridge Trail; a perfect close by hotel is Courtyard Lake Placid. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Adirondack Mountains will keep you coming back many times. At Little Rankin Pond you can catch a glimpse of Balfour Mountain, and you'll hit upon a charming lake called Bullhead Pond. The warmest time of the year at Little Rankin Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and the overnight is a little cooler of course, usually in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Little Rankin Pond temperatures descend to the 0's.
