All year is a fine time in the Adirondack Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Curtis Lake is a magnificent lake near Little Deer Lake. There's so much to do here at Little Deer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Adirondack Gateway Campground is a great place for that. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Forty Mountain Trail, and Best Western Sunset Inn is a brilliant site to get some rest. Hiking       is a popular thing to do around Little Deer Lake; Party Trail is a wonderful local trail; get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of West Canada Creek. This lake is so wonderful. McCauley Mountain is a glorious local ski area, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Black River. Throughout the long summer days at Little Deer Lake highs are typically in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter                  the highs are frequently in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Little Deer Lake temperatures sink to the 0's.
