Pioneer Village is a splendid campground nearby; there's great hiking along the Van Hoevenberg Trail. Little Ampersand Pond gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Pisgah while you're here, and since you might be       in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Owl Pond. Yeah, come up here to the Adirondack Mountains for a good time. THE HOTEL SARANAC is a pleasant place to get some rest, and the view of pretty Ampersand Mountain is wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Woodlake Inn; there are tremendous locations to explore along the McKenzie Pond Trail. Golf can be played at Saranac Lake Golf Club, and get your pulse rate up on the tremendous                  whitewater of Ausable River - West Branch. Skiing at Whiteface Mountain is one of those things you just should do, and hey, Cold Brook is a splendid local stream. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Little Ampersand Pond, so little time. Donaldson George A and Sons is a good local campground, and don't leave Little Ampersand Pond without first going for a hike along the Indian Pass Trail. This spot is excellent, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do in the neighborhood of Little Ampersand Pond. Through the summer highs here at Little Ampersand Pond get into the 70's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows throughout the wintertime for Little Ampersand Pond tend to be in the 0's. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Adirondack Mountains will keep you coming back time and again.
