Take a hike on the Taconic Crest Trail, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Poesten Kill River. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Jiminy Peak is close to Links Pond, and you can have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Taconic Skyline Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Willard Mountain is just what you need; if you came for an overnight       stay Alps Family Campground is a good place to camp. Americas Best Inns Poughkeepsie is a great place to get some rest. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Links Pond reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Links Pond tend to be in the 10's.
