Don't leave Line Pond without first going for a hike along the Schwartz Trail, and do take a look at Loon Lake, it's a wonderful lake. Go for a hike on the McKenzie Pond Trail, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Whiteface Mountain is pretty near. Stay the night at Donaldson George A and Sons; a great location for whitewater paddling is Salmon River. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll like Line Pond. This lake is so wonderful. good place to take a look at, and Pioneer Village is a great campground nearby. During the months of summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Line Pond, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter
highs are commonly in the 20's, and night lows at Line Pond during the winter regularly descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay THE HOTEL SARANAC is a delightful choice; get your heart beating
on the nice whitewater of Saranac River - North Branch. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Not far from Line Pond you discover Horse Head Point, and there's wonderful hiking along the Silver Lake
Mountain Trail. A lot of precipitation falls at Line Pond; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful.

Silver lake mountain trail head is found on Silver lake Road, which intersects with NY Route 3 about 23 miles west of Plattsburgh [near Clayburg]. Go south on Silver Lake Road for about 10 miles, find the marked trailhead on the left side of the road. This is a short somewhat steep hike with a beautiful view from the top. Well worth the effort....Silver Lake Mt. is a glorious hike. Its not too difficult for the amateur hikers and has a few trails off to the side that are a bit more difficult and fun for the experienced hikers. Its a great place for a family or business day retreat and provides phenomenal views of the North Countries natural beauty. Enjoy the trail but remember to keep it clean and well maintained.
