    Many people like to go to Lake Lincolndale. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Edith Macy Conference Center is a magnificent choice; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Here at Lake Lincolndale you'll perhaps meet some folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Popolopen Creek. For the period of the summer months, highs generally are in the 80's  
   at Lake Lincolndale. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Lincolndale are in the 10's.
At Lake Lincolndale you can see Round Top, and Sanctuary Country Club is a golf course close by. Yeah, come here to Lake Lincolndale for a fine time. Mahopac Point is in the neighborhood of Lake Lincolndale and is a wonderful place to stop by. Lakes? Sure, Glencoma Lake is close
 
               at hand.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Mt. Kisco (Westchester Cty),Ny; not far from Lake Lincolndale you'll stumble on Teakettle Spout Lake which is a lovely lake. Lake Lincolndale sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. A great site to camp here at Lake Lincolndale is Clarence Fahnestock State Park, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Wappinger Creek.
Lake Lincolndale is great enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Kiwi is a great local campground; the slopes of Thunder Ridge are so inviting noone can resist.

Dixon Lake
...back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to...

Secor Lake
Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...

Lounsbury Pond is in Blue Mountain Reservation and not really that close to the Appalachian Trail or Beaver Pond. Sterling Forest is about 45 minutes away. You cannot camp at Blue Mountain Reservation. Stillwater Lake is in Putnam County and the trail near it is unmarked and not named....
