High temperatures at Leighfs Pond throughout the summer are in the 70's, and the nighttime is quite cooler of course, frequently in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Leighfs Pond. Take a little visit to Gidneytown Creek since you're here at Leighfs Pond, and Leighfs Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Newburgh/New York City       N KOA is a nice local campground. If the weather is great here at Leighfs Pond, you can go for a hike along the Stillwell Lake Trail; the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by. The top of Cronomer Hill is easily seen from Leighfs Pond, and camping at K O A-hudson Valley Campground is always a good experience. Leighfs Pond is a wet site that gets much rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest                  month is February. You simply should go for Leighfs Pond. Lake Washington is a splendid lake right next door to Leighfs Pond; get yourself into a kayak and hit Moodna Creek. Dry warm beds await you at New York City Newburgh Stewart Airport Super 8 Motel, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Wappinger Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Near Leighfs Pond you stumble on the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail which is a good hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful.
