Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are in fact plentiful here at Leighfs Pond. There is a nice hiking trail in the vicinity of Leighfs Pond called the Stillwell Lake Trail; a golf course nearby is Mill Creek Golf Club. All through the months       of summer here at Leighfs Pond, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Leighfs Pond night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Gidneytown Creek. Lakes? Sure, Muchattoes Lake is nearby. Sterling Forest has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff. There's                  whitewater on Moodna Creek for all you adrenaline junkies, and Crystal Lake is a glorious lake close by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Leighfs Pond has to offer, you can camp at Newburgh/New York City N KOA; if you need a place to stay Windsor Motel is a nice choice. Leighfs Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Inn - Newburgh is a great site to spend a night or two, and get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Wappinger Creek.
