I am an RN at Barnes Kasson and my husband and I were looking for a place to fish? my email is forhealthylife@hotmail. Com or phone 570-240-3157. Thank you. Also, sorry to hear of your loss, it is always a painful process. Thank you, Laura Heller...Hi Joe, I rented your Mom's cottage 2 different summers and really enjoyed talking to her. I am sorry for your loss. She is a delightful spirit. I would still like to rent something on Wrighter Lake. Is her cottage still for rent or do you know of another one? I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Betty... |

 | 12 miles away My grandmother owned a house on Fiddle Lake. It is a beautiful area. Very secluded from the outside towns, however so if you are planning a trip, just know it takes about 45 minutes to get to the nearest town for groceries....Fiddle Lake is the highest eleveated lake in Pa so the water is still refreshing on hot summer days! Theres no public access for fishing but if you are lucky enough to find a cottage rental you can catch all the pan fish you want. Just release the bass due to lake association rules.... |

Elk Mountain
 | 15 miles away 3 PHOTOS Elk is uncrowded and really fun. They seem to make the best out off the conditions weather gives them. Good, long trails(for Pa). I liked the mini park. The ''bigger'' park made the best of the space. I surface lift in the park lets you session as long as you want, and stay in the park. Great for dialing in on my skillz. Couple of the rail and box features are really cool. I will go to Elk a couple times a year.... |

Lackawanna River
 | 19 miles away Nice section of the river. Scenerey is very good at the beginning but sort of degrades as you approach Carbondale. Rapids are mostly cobbles with a few rock gardens and several ledges. One that can surprise you is the ledge just before Simpson. Kind of sneaks up on you. Depending upon water level, can be a 2 - 3 foot drop. This drop should be scouted to check for strainers. Go straight through gap at center with boof or make a left at the crag in river center for a blind twisting chute. The river gradient is pretty steep so there is just about constant white water class I and II.... |
