If you come at the right time of year, Vly Creek offers some perfect whitewater; hey, Gotta ski right? Ski Plattekill is a great place to do that. Winwood Inn is a nice place to get some rest. So much amusing stuff in the Catskill Mountains, just extraordinary. You might want to pay a visit to Townsend Hollow if you're here at Lake Switzerland, and a magnificent place to camp here       at Lake Switzerland is Uncle Pete's Recreation Park. This lake is so wonderful. Wawaka Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at; going for a hike along the Seager West Branch Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. The Catskill Mountains scenery is always beautiful. All the outdoors fun stuff near Lake Switzerland will keep you coming back repeatedly. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend                  Bush Kill River, and the slopes of Belleayre are so inviting nobody can resist. Lake Switzerland gets a common amount of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Lake Switzerland, you could also check out nearby Tunis Pond; Lake Switzerland is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Stratton Falls Campground is a delightful local campground. Summertime highs at Lake Switzerland usually tend to be in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Switzerland temperatures drop to the 0's. If you're here at Lake Switzerland, you could pop by Emory Brook, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Vernooy Falls Trail.
