After a long day outdoors Winwood Inn is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; Lake Switzerland is good enough to spend more than a day at, Stratton Falls Campground is a good local campground. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Catskill Mountains. Tunis Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit, and a brilliant location to camp here at Lake Switzerland is Uncle Pete's       Recreation Park. Ski Plattekill has good slopes and a friendly staff, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Phoenicia Trail. Throughout the long summer days here at Lake Switzerland, high temperatures generally get into the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Lake Switzerland drop into the 0's.                  This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Hanah Mountain Resort and Country Club; if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Vernooy Falls Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the neighborhood of Lake Switzerland. There's some flowing water nearby, Emory Brook is a stream you can take a look at while you're here, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Seager West Branch Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Bush Kill River near Lake Switzerland, and since you're here, you could also stop by stunning Wawaka Lake. That right there is a load of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Catskill Mountains has it all. Get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Vly Creek, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Belleayre. A journey to Townsend Hollow is always fun. Lake Switzerland gets a normal amount of annual rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February.
