While you're here at Lake Surprise, you could also have a look at charming Melzingah Reservoir, and do take a hike on the Stillwell Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Breakneck Point is near Lake Surprise and is a great place to stop at, and why not explore close by Breakneck Brook while you're here at Lake Surprise.
