If you like lakes and you're in this part of New York you can check out Lake Skemonto. There is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Lake Skemonto called the Pine Meadow Trail, and Little Long Pond is a fine lake nearby. Through the warm days of summer here at Lake Skemonto, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 60's. of Lake Skemonto, and Robert Moses is a magnificent local campground.
The peak of Black Ash Mountain can be distinguished from Lake Skemonto, and the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. The best way to spend
a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mt. Peter. Having a good time at Lake Skemonto is trouble-free. Sterling Forest is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you
then, we recommend Popolopen Creek.
Lake Skemonto gets a lot of water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Near Lake Skemonto you discover the Kakiat Trail
which is a magnificent hiking trail. Lakes? Sure, Lake Sebago is in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Old Sebago Beach is close to Lake Skemonto if you're in a beach type of mood; do pop by Diamond Creek while you're here at Lake Skemonto.
